Only in Oklahoma can we enjoy a 70 degree day outside and a snow day in the same week! We were able to enjoy a few days celebrating our Catholic School this week. A few of our activities will be rescheduled for next week. Stay tuned for information on that.
This week was all about bears, penguins, and snowmen! PK and TK enjoyed their bear breakfasts. Their bears were quite naughty and made a huge mess! We ice skated to The Ice Skaters Waltz in music, learned the Parable of the Precious Pearl in catechesis, and finished part two of printmaking bugs in art.

It was wonderful having everyone back at school, healthy and happy! This week we enjoyed all things winter...snowball fights, freezing and melting water, ice sculpting, and snow painting. Our shining saint on display this month is St. Thomas Aquinas. He was born in the 13th century in Italy and is the patron of students, Catholic schools, theologians, scholars and against storms and lightning. He was a teacher and wrote one of the most influential theology books of all time, the "Summa Theologiae."

Thank you for everyone's patience and understanding this week. Many of your reached out with thoughts of prayers, offers to run errands for sick teachers, or substitute. Your kindness is appreciated more than you know. I'm hopeful the days off prevented further spread of the virus in our community. We are looking forward to seeing everyone back on Tuesday!
Winter finally made its landing in Tulsa! We spent time inside this week, grateful for our warm gym where we could run and play. Classes were busy learning all about the winter weather and the Feast of the Epiphany. Deacon Dean Wersal stopped by the school for a special Epiphany blessing in each classroom.
This week we were busy at ECDC preparing for Jesus' birthday! We had snowball fights in gymnastics, decorated gingerbread houses, finished making Christmas presents for moms and dads, and even received a special message from the North Pole!
We enjoyed more Christmas preparations in our second week of Advent. The Feast of St. Nicholas was on Monday. He even left treats in our shoes during naptime! An email regarding enrollment for 2022-2023 was sent to parents yesterday. Please refer to the timeline in the email for important dates to remember. If you have any questions about enrollment, please reach out to the office.
Seeing the joy at the Christmas programs of parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends was a beautiful experience. Thank you for attending and supporting our wonderful school! A special thank you to Mrs. Monica Barbour for directing the program, Mr. Jon Lawrence for narrating the show, and Mrs. Sarah Bergner for designing the set, running music, and handling all the other behind the scenes details.
We still have a few remaining pictures in the office from our Veterans Day. Lunch will close today. Also if you have a MIDDLE SCHOOLER FINALS are DECEMBER 14-16TH they will be leaving at 12:30pm unless you plan on having them stay.

This week we made preparations for our Thanksgiving celebrations taking place next week. We talked about all the blessings we have from God and donated our Blizzard Bags to Meals on Wheels. We enjoyed playing outside in the fall weather and practicing Christmas songs for the programs!
We hope you will join us on May 1 as we kick off phase I of our "Building on the Rock" campaign with a groundbreaking and blessing ceremony of the Marquette Catholic School playground. This short ceremony will bless the grounds, reveal the playground's new name and officially kick off construction immediately following the 5 p.m. Mass.
