At Marquette Catholic School, our purpose is the formation of students who will be good citizens of this world, loving God and neighbor, and who will also be citizens of the world to come, fulfilling their vocation to become saints. Following the teachings of Jesus Christ, our school is inspired by a supernatural vision, founded on a Christian anthropology, animated by communion and community, permeated by a Catholic worldview, and sustained by a daily witness of the Gospel. These standards as given to us by the Church help us to be rooted in Jesus and the Church, which He established over 2,000 years ago.
Marquette is a community of faith where our students are supported by educators who are committed to fulfilling the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Additionally, in our hallways and classrooms Christ is not an afterthought; He is the center of our school, the source and summit of our existence. Thus, prayer is a normal part of our day so that our students learn to pray in times of sorrow and joy. The sacraments of the Eucharist and Reconciliation mark the rhythm of our school’s life. The Rosary, religious study, recounting the lives of the saints, and celebrating the Church’s liturgical year are all ways Marquette carries out its spiritual mission.
Because Catholicism is a comprehensive way of life, it animates every aspect of our activities and curriculum. Mindful of our redemption in Christ, we aim to form our students in those virtues that will enable them to live a new life in Christ and help them serve the Church and the larger community in which they are a part.
We are a Catholic school, devoted to Jesus Christ first. Everything we do is centered around our Catholic faith. We belong to Him and believe that our reliance on Him and relationship with Him are crucial to the fruitfulness of our mission.
Together, we pursue excellence. We pursue excellence in academics, in virtue, in physical activity. Our role is to help form students to be prepared for the exciting adventure that God is calling them into.
Although Marquette will always be home to all of our students, our ultimate goal is to prepare them for beyond our walls. With intentionality and fervor, we give students the tools they need to be sent out into the world to transform it.
Be His. Be Built. Be Sent.
The second project is during Lent. Families are asked to donate baby items such as formula, clothes, and toys. These items are collected by Catholic Charities and shared with the mothers and children in the Madonna House. Teachers emphasize the importance of sacrifice during Lent and connect the lesson to their donations.
Spiritual Committee - The purpose of the Spiritual Committee is to support faith formation for the faculty and staff at Marquette Catholic School and Early Childhoold Development Center. The committee consists of the Parish of Christ the King Coordinator of Family Ministry along with several faculty members. The committee meets once a month to organize opportunities for the faculty and staff to grow in their faith as well as ways to support each other in our faith journeys. Some of the fruits of the committee include a monthly staff prayer group called "Prayerful Hearts," a text group where staff members can share prayer intentions, a shared drive where teachers can post service projects based on the Corporal Works of Mercy, and a plan for donating extra lunch food to those in need.
