Please mark your calendars to show that we will not have Aftercare on May 6th in order to hold a Faculty Appreciation event as part of Teacher Appreciation Week. Next week we will be having our second semester Virtus lesson of Protecting God's Children. Beginning on April 11th, our 4th-8th grade students will begin their spring MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) testing window. The following week, April 18th - 22nd, our 2nd through 3rd grade students will begin their spring MAP testing window.
This week in Catechesis we learned the Parable of the Leaven and reflected on what it teaches us about the Kingdom of God. We welcomed the season of spring and we sent our Lenten collections of baby items to Catholic Charities. Thank you for all the contributions. In Art class we continued preparing for the Art Show and Parade happening on April 22nd.
This week we learned about St. Patrick and how he taught people the Holy Trinity. In Music we listened to a song written by St. Katharine Drexel and played a real xylophone. We heard the story of the found sheep in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and started preparing our box cars in Art for our parade happening April 22nd (more information coming soon).
Marquette is partnering with the School of St. Mary to bring in a fantastic national speaker named Katie Greer. Katie Greer will give a presentation to any interested parent or teacher on Monday, March 21st, at 6:30 in the Vision Gym. April lunch is now open. Just a reminder, if your child has a field trip coming up you may want to check with your teacher before ordering.
A full, fun week was had by all at ECDC! Tuesday we celebrated Mardi Gras with a parade for our friends and family. Wednesday we welcomed Lent with an Ash Wednesday service. We also celebrated Dr. Seuss this week with some wacky outfits and crazy activities!
